Emanation of the Parisian-Aquitaine jazz collective Déluge, the Orchid is a large modern ensemble, which draws from the big jazz bands of the great era (Count Basie, Thad Jones) but also from European scholarly music, music of the world and even of its American counterparts (Maria Schneider, Kenny Wheeler), until the music of today. This young group brings together 18 musicians passionate about group play and original music. Everyone is free to offer compositions of their own, which abound a common constantly evolving repertoire. Cette jeune formation rassemble 18 musicien·ne·s passionné·e·s par le jeu en groupe et la musique originale. Chacun est libre de proposer des compositions de son cru, qui viennent abonder un répertoire commun en constante évolution. Porté l'enthousiasme de ses membres, l'Orchid déploie une énergie rare en concert, de divagations lyriques en tuttis enfiévrés.
